Day 2 of our road trip started off with breakfast out with our friends, who were so gracious to let us stay at their home.
Then we drove from Kansas City, MO to Ft. Leavenworth KS to visit our cousin Eric who is stationed there for a year.
It was awesome catching up with him, and he even gave us a tour of the base that dates back to the civil war.
Then it was on the road again, with a stop for lunch at another unheard of fast food joint......
And a long drive thru Kansas, which looked like this the whole way................
And before we made it home we stopped by the Oklahoma City Memorial.
All these chairs represent a person that died on that day. The row it is in represents the floor they were on in the building.
There were two gates as you entered the memorial, one was marked 9:01 and the other 9:03, in the middle is the reflective pool that represents the time the bombing took place, 9:02.
We ended up getting home at about 11pm, it was a fun and educational weekend.
Thanks Kori for arranging all of the neat stops.
What was the last road trip you went on?
PEACE IN JESUS,
