Class of 2011

last night Matt and I graduated from the Gospel For Asia new staff class of 2011.
this class sounds like it would be about on the job training, and it is, but it isn't.
we read a lot of books and did a lot of papers, it was more like a spiritual class to prepare us for ministry life.
Throughout this class we had the privilege to hear from a lot of people who have been the grass roots of the ministry and how they prepare for the battle.

First we had a nice dinner together, and it was my mentor Paula's birthday!

then we were blessed to hear from a lot of people with a lot of wisdom!

We heard about 1Jn 3:16-it's a joy to lay down our lives for the brothers and sisters on the field. God is supernaturally taking ground on the field-it's happening. Our work is making a difference!
Most people leave ministry because of hurt feelings from others, so we can choose to....... Never close your heart to the brothers and sisters here. Believe the best about others and bless them.
Just so many encouraging things to remind us why we were called here in the first place!

The graduation.................

Fred, here since the beginning with brother KP, and David our CEO and myself all wearing the same shirt...I think we look like a crazy folk singing group or something...........

the four of us, Matt and I with Micheal and Stephanie...........

Praise God for bringing us here and allowing us to ahve a small part in the work of His Kingdom!!!

Peace in Jesus,

  1. congratulations! What a worthwhile accomplishment!

  2. congrats, summy-sum :) what a nice accomplishment to head back to california with! i also want to say i agree with the folk group assessment. peter, paul and mary should have worn blue and white striped shirts, most def :)

  3. Congratulations on your graduation! It sounds like you've learned A LOT!

  4. Congratulations on your graduation! KP spoke at my girlfriend's church a few weeks ago (Cornerstone in Livermore). I was bummed she didn't tell me.

What an amazing journey the Lord has put you on. I look forward to watching from the blog-lines! So tell me, are you missing California? We are feeling the Lord tugging on us to leave for the South. Still praying!
