potty training and bribery

just go hand in hand.
that is why this toy story flash light has been sitting on the back of our toilet for a few days.

s has been potty training,
and we have had some problems with accidents.
i told her the first day she goes without any accidents the flashlight will be hers.
i am quite sure this goes against many rules of parenting.
but it worked ☻

who knew a flashlight would be so fun?
s did!

Peace in Jesus,
Summur

  1. Good for you for finding something that worked - bribery or no. I tried special undies, a penny jar, jelly beans, a sticker chart, all to no avail. When B decided to go, he went.

  2. A mom's gotta do what a mom's gotta do! We all resort to it sometimes -- and hey if it works even better! We used LEGO to get Bub to quit sucking his thumb.

    Blessings!

  3. Glad it worked. Seems like Kailyn and Sinclair are much more alike than we think :)

  4. Good luck with the potty training. And I think there is always a point that parental rules go out the window... sometimes you just have to give in to get things done. I can't believe how big Sinclair is getting... crazy!

  5. I recently bought my son a big box of pop tarts for giving up his pacifiers. Sometimes you just have to do what works. :)

  6. Good for her! I know my co-worker took last week off as vacation and she spent the week potty training her little girl Samantha. And she got it done in a week! I wonder what kinda bribery she used :-)

  7. In every other area of parenting I'm strongly opposed to bribery - I think kids should be taught to obey just because it's the right thing to do! - BUT in potty training, we pull out M & Ms, Skittles, whatever bribery it takes. Does that mean I'm a lazy mama in that area??? Could be. However, I've potty trained 6 so far, 1 to go, and so far it's been a good thing. :)
