MOO

For the last 3 years and 8 months I have been either pregnant or nursing.
Sinclair stopped nursing at 11 months, all of a sudden,
while on vacation with my husband's brothers and families.
(That made for some fun emotional times.)
Riette who is almost 13 months, was down to one night time nursing.
Then a few nights ago she just got restless with it and refused me,
happily taking a cup of milk.
I don't know how to feel about this.
I am excited to be free.
Hopeful my extra 15 lbs will melt away.
Trusting He will give me wisdom in this time.
Sad to think this could be my last time nursing, or even my last baby.
How do you handle your babies growing up?

  2. I struggle with it. I hated giving up nursing. It was such a special time...but you find other ways to have that one on one time. Model reads to me while I lay in her bed. LOL isn't that reverse roles? but she loves to read and i like to rest and just be with her:)

  3. I said YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS FINALLY! :) I am so glad my kids weaned themselves much earlier than 12 months. Nothing like strong willed kids.

  5. I had mixed emotions too. Still do. I can't believe I have one going to highschool in the fall! He was my one that nursed one day, pushed himself away, slid down off the bed and crawled away(he wasn't walking quite yet). If I recall correctly, he was one year and two days old. That was the end of that. I guess when they decide, they decide.

    Blessings and hugs to you!

  6. I have had 3 kiddos and I feel very good with that number. I may have some sadness when my kids are a little bit older. I'll say a prayer for you.

    BTW, cute pictures!

  8. What a cutie! Every milestone like this is bittersweet for me. I love that he's growing into his own little person, but sometimes I miss my little newborn who wanted his mama.

  13. It was bittersweet, when Soren stopped nursing (around 15 months). I slowly weaned him, and it went really smoothly. I had to get him off the boob before I went on a trip without him, incidentally. It was nice not to have to worry about my milk, and being a bit freer to do things without him. Plus I did lose some more weight, which was awesome.

  14. I usually had another kid! And then nursed the caboose until over 2! I'm no help, eh? Are you really sure you can't have more? That would be hard.
